Last Wednesday the Central Chapter Trail Crew worked on clearing three miles of the orange-blazed Florida Trail & the white-blazed River Trail in Bronson State Forest. We worked in the eastern part which is just north of the Orlando Wetlands and Seminole Ranch WMA.

With this large group we were able to divide into three teams to chainsaw & remove downed trees across the trail, and double mow the trail while other volunteers raked palm debris from the trail, cut off the over-hanging growth, and removed it from the trail. The weather was nice, the area very scenic with lots of palms & live oaks.

Next week we will be working on the Florida Trail in the south part of Seminole Ranch Wildlife Management Area. Join us for the fun!

Wed Nov 12 – Seminole Ranch WMA South/meet at Wheeler Road Trailhead

Be Prepared! Wear long pants, long sleeves, sturdy shoes/boots, insect repellant & sunscreen. Tools & safety equipment (eyewear, gloves, safety helmets) will be furnished or you can bring your own. Bring water, snacks & lunch.
