As a great day hiking destination, the Florida Trail offers hundreds of places to get into the woods and enjoy nature throughout Florida. Since it is a linear trail, most of these hikes are out-and-back or require coordinating two cars, one at each trailhead, to hike a segment. There are places where you can also do a day hiking loop using alternate routes to connect back to the main trail.
Our new book, Florida Trail Hikes, will feature the best scenic sections of the Florida Trail with day hike and longer options. We are working on it now and plan to publish it Fall 2016. Sign up for book updates to learn more as our work progresses.
