The reason that St. Andrews State Park is one of the busiest of Florida State Parks is its long stretch of beach, making Jetty Beach the prime destination for most park visitors.
Location: Panama City Beach
Lat-Lon: 30.12533, -85.73405
Fees: $5-8 per vehicle.
Open: 8 AM until sunset daily
Pets are not permitted on beaches. The Jetty Beach area has bathhouse facilities, picnic pavilions, and a gift shop with concessionaire selling food and renting beach equipment.
Behind the jetty is a sheltered cove that’s popular with families, since young children can wade in the shallow, calm waters. On the other side of the dunes, the Gulf of Mexico strums a steady beat against the shore, undercutting it in places. This is where you’ll find the choppiest surf, which appeals to local surfers.
