Comfortable Places to Stay
Staying comfy while playing outdoors becomes important when you’re on the road a lot – as we are, doing our research for our books and this website – or when the weather says it’s just not smart to camp. The following accommodations are places we’ve personally stayed at or visited to review for our Florida guidebooks.
As travel writers, we are occasionally provided free stays at hotels, cabins, and resorts. This does not color our opinions on the places we stay, as we also write reviews for travel guides. As a courtesy to places that have put us up during research trips, we provide a list of nearby outdoor activities at the bottom of their review.
Back to Nature
During the cooler months, campgrounds are an ideal destination for families on a budget who want to explore trails nearby, or for folks who simply enjoy communing with nature. We’ve stayed at many campgrounds and cabins across Florida during hiking season – and even in the warmer months – while on our research trips. Dig in here for where to go camping.
