Prices at Weeki Wachee are going down, down, down, as prices at Florida State Parks creep up a little. Now that Weeki Wachee Springs is a Florida State Park, a new price structure takes affect on July 1, cutting entrance fees in half:
Adults $13
Children ages 6-12, $5
Children 5 and under, free
Florida State Parks passholders get a 33% discount off these fees.
Along with the classic mermaid show, the park includes a narrated pontoon boat ride down the Weeki Wachee River, walkways through the old gardens, and a bird show. Accessed from the parking lot, an outfitter can get you into a canoe or kayak and down the waterway on your own; around the corner from the park there is access to hiking trails at Weeki Wachee Preserve and Chassahowitzka WMA. And on the opposite side of the river from the mermaid show, the park operates Buccaneer Bay, a water park with swimming in the spring, during the summer months.
I’m hoping Florida State Parks reopens the old nature trails and network of forest roads that were once open for visitors to hike back in the 1970s. Learn more about Weeki Wachee Springs State Park…
