Dense woodlands, open plains, and lakes: it’s all recreated here just outside the fence of the West Palm Beach International Airport at Mounts Botanical Garden. Yup, that was a 757 grazing the trees.
And what trees. We’re talking unusual stuff like baobab and rainbow eucalyptus mingled with more common tropical flora and native species.

About the Gardens
Mazy walkways across the 14 acre gardens fool the eye and enable volunteers to keep adding tightly packed thematic gardens such as the edible garden.
Founded by Red Mounts in the 1950s, this garden started as a County Extension Service demonstration garden and didn’t open to the public until the 1970s. It’s still the site of the local extension service, which offers horticultural classes and talks.
The nursery occasionally opens for plant sales, and the gift shop has a large selection of botanical and gardening books and gifts.
