A big welcome to the New England National Scenic Trail (NET), the first National Scenic Trail to be established in 26 years, (since the Florida Trail was designated) and the third to fall entirely within a single state (the Florida Trail and Wisconsin’s Ice Age Trail being the forerunners of that idea). Running across Massachusetts, partially along the route of the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail, this trail will follow a 220-mile route between state borders.

President Obama signed the declaration on March 30. This now makes 9 National Scenic Trails across the United States, with Florida the proud location of one of them!
