We’ve spent the past half hour arranging the insides of our tiny TravLite camper, an early 80s vintage popup that’s a step up from a tent on wheels – with headroom. The floor is perhaps 4×6′ but we can stand up in it and enjoy cushioned seats, a table, and a bed. The entire interior is about the size of a queen bed, but being able to sit up and write with feet on the floor makes all the difference!
Tomorrow we merge into the flow of the Big O. The group is about half the size of last year, with a handful of hikers from out of state. Because of nagging injuries and not wanting to sideline ourselves in the midst of a new hiking book project, we’re taking it easy, splitting the more grueling distance in two just to get outside and enjoy the camaraderie of the hike.
