Information

Our bounty of parks in Florida includes everything from major national parks like Everglades National Park to more than 160 units of our award-winning Florida State Parks, along with parks created by and maintained by city and county parks and recreation agencies. Parks – which often charge a fee for entry because they have developed facilities, including restrooms – also include state forests as well as our National Forests and National Wildlife Refuges, which accept National Park passes for entry to most fee areas.
On our website, we tend to focus on parks that have an outdoor recreation element other than just a place for a picnic or a ball game, and of course, we prefer to visit parks that have some sort of trail worth exploring or a spring to swim in. However, we do also list some urban parks that enable you to enjoy a natural getaway in a city.
