PayPal Purchase Cancelled
Your PayPal purchase was not completed, but that’s okay.
If you think (or know) PayPal charged you for the order and you’re surprised to end up on this page, contact us here and let us know if you DO want the book, or if you want to cancel the order. We’ll sort it out for you.
If you backed out of your order, we’ve learned that one of the questions that sometimes cuts an order short is “why is the PayPal price higher than the price on your website?” That might have interrupted your order because yes, it’s a bit of a shock to see the price jump up.
The reason it does is that we must collect and submit sales tax for the state of Florida on every purchase, and there is a cost to ship the book. Taxes in Florida also apply to shipping costs. Those fees are added on to the list price when you pay for the book, since they are calculated by Paypal.
We’ve kept our handling fees minimal but have little control over what the USPS charges for shipping. We ship our guidebooks Priority Mail because there’s a guarantee by the postal service it’ll get there. Unlike the big publishers, we publish small custom batches of guidebooks so we don’t have a lot of margin for replacing books lost in the mail. When you order multiple books, we group them for the least expensive postal rate and refund you the difference, if any.
Finally, maybe you just don’t like PayPal! We understand. You are welcome to send us a check for the cost of a book, but before doing so, you need to contact us here so we can let you know what to send and where, since we do still need to collect shipping cost and sales tax.
