As I parked next to the new bridge over SR 442 along the bike path in Edgewater, there was still heavy equipment in place. It was lunch time for the workers, so I had the trail to myself.

It is exciting to see pavement progress as the Volusia Corridor begins to make its way to the C2C Corridor and the rest of the proposed system of trails.

With my bike packed, I was off to collect another nugget of bike path knowledge in Edgewater. However, this class would be a short one. Only a half mile south of the bridge, I came to a nice trailhead under construction along Cow Creek Road. That was the end of the pavement, at least for now.

It wasn’t a wasted trip, thankfully. At least now I know where I can park when they finish the next section of trail as it parallels Cow Creek Rd down into the Turnbull Swamp.
Ride
Only a 1 mile round-trip between the closed bridge and the trailhead under construction. You can see, but not connect to, the north end of the Edgewater Bike Path north of SR 422.
