Cary State Forest
Hiking, biking, camping, and other outdoor recreation in Cary State Forest, west of Jacksonville. With more than 13,000 acres in two tracts off US 301 north of Baldwin, this extensive forest has both wetlands and uplands accessible by its forest roads. Three loop trails – two of which are for equestrians – can be reached from the Pavilion Road recreation area.
