Down in Glades County, in the wilds of South Central Florida, Fisheating Creek has always been a favorite for paddlers. It’s Florida as it once was (and still is here), winding through ancient cypress as it flows from the end of the Lake Wales Ridge to Lake Okeechobee.
Thanks to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, hikers can now enjoy the beauty of Fisheating Creek as well. On Saturday Jan 10, they’ll open a brand-new interpretive trail at the Fisheating Creek WMA north of Moore Haven. Come enjoy the open house with hayride at their office north of Moore Haven on SR 78, 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday.
