Got kids? Then you’ll appreciate this special Department of the Interior program to get you and your family outdoors.
The Every Kid in a Park program enables parents with fourth-grade students (public school or homeschooled) to obtain an interagency parks pass good through the end of next summer. Each pass allows the entire family to enter any National Park, National Wildlife Refuge, National Forest fee site, BLM Lands (out west), and Army Corps of Engineers sites. For free!
The pass is good anywhere you can use your America the Beautiful annual pass.
The pass works for field trips, too. Teachers and instructors at youth-serving organizations (church groups, Scouting, homeschool groups, summer camps) can request the passes for their fourth-graders as well to plan a field trip with the group.
You don’t need to drive to Everglades National Park, Gulf Islands National Seashore, or any of the other National Parks in Florida to get one. Simply go online and answer a series of questions to download and print a pass.
The Every Kid in a Park pass expires on August 31, 2016.
