Wetlands parks exist to filter stormwater or wastewater naturally while maintaining wetlands habitats. Because of the differing depths of their impoundments and the ground cover that both filters water and provides shelter, they attract a diversity of wildlife, especially in urban settings. Photographers find these excellent destinations to photograph birds, alligators, and mammals at any time of year, but especially during our winter season.
Orlando Wetlands Park is the oldest and finest wetlands park example in Florida, after which subsequent natural treatment areas around the state have been patterned.
